So, I’ve decided that, at least this Author: Ben Peak.

Genesis Context. 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat.   Genesis 3: Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. The Hebrew word for subtle used in Genesis 3 is aruwm, meaning subtle, shrewd, crafty, sly, sensible, or even prudent. I have a feeling that this dude didn’t look like an ugly snake, slithering around in the garden.

The only descriptive used here to describe its character is subtle, or subtil in King James’ English. This one single trait indicates the WHY and WHO of the Serpent. It is the inventor and master of subtlety. To the point that % of humanity thinks this serpent thing is all a farce and hoax. Genesis 3 World English Bible (WEB). 3 Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?’” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees of the garden, 3 but not the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden.
